Ryan Funk

GRADUATE INTERN, BSW

Ryan is an Advanced Standing Clinical MSW Intern at the University of Kansas. Ryan earned his bachelor’s degree in Social Welfare from the University of Kansas. Ryan has experience working as a Kansas Certified Peer Mentor and Peer Specialist, primarily working with those in recovery from a substance use disorders. Ryan also has experience working with adolescents in individual and in group settings. In addition to his work at ICS, Ryan also spends some of his time each week at a local sober house, helping men who are early in recovery from substance abuse issues. Ryan has a passion for working with adolescents, primarily those involved in the foster care system and those struggling with a substance use disorder.

Daisy was adopted from the Lawrence Humane Society in August 2020. Her favorite hobbies include going on long walks in the woods, playing with her toys, visiting with clients at the office, and cuddling up with her dad at night to watch movies. She has touched many people’s lives with her undying love and loyalty.
